A private boat for your stag group

Get everyone together for drinks on the river, with a boat set aside for the people on your guest list. This Budapest booze cruise combines private boat hire with an open bar, giving the organiser one activity to arrange and the group a place to spend time together.

There are no public tickets sold alongside your booking. You share the deck with your friends, the crew and your coordinator. The atmosphere can follow the group, whether that means a lively playlist, a toast to the groom or an hour catching up with friends who have travelled from different places.

This works particularly well when the weekend includes a mixture of close friends, relatives and colleagues. Everyone has the same meeting point and the same programme. Once aboard, you can settle into the conversation while Budapest passes along the riverbanks.

What the open bar covers

The standard drinks selection includes beer, wine, prosecco and soft drinks throughout your booked cruise. That gives the group a choice of drinks and includes an option for friends who prefer something alcohol-free.

The package covers the agreed selection for the agreed sailing time. Specific brands, spirits and cocktails are not automatically part of it. If the groom has a favourite drink or someone has a particular requirement, tell us when you enquire so we can check what is available and include any changes in your quote.

For the organiser, the useful part is knowing what has been arranged before everyone arrives. You can share the confirmed package with the group and collect their contributions against an agreed total. Any requested additions should be settled with us in advance, so the plan stays clear for everyone.

One hour or a longer cruise

The standard activity includes one hour on the Danube. It fits into an afternoon or evening alongside a meal or another booking, without taking over the whole day. Keep some space in your itinerary for reaching the dock, boarding and getting to your next destination afterwards.

Longer sailing times are available on request. A 90-minute or two-hour option may suit a larger gathering or a group that wants the boat to be the main event. Availability and the drinks package for the longer duration are confirmed together when we prepare your quote.

Choose the duration before committing to the next part of your evening. An extension cannot be assumed once you are on board, as the boat may have another booking afterwards. If you are undecided, ask us to quote the timings you are considering so you can compare the full arrangements.

Choose the time that suits your weekend

A daytime departure gives you clear river views and leaves the evening free for dinner or nightlife. A late-afternoon sailing can work as the point where everyone comes together after separate daytime plans. An evening cruise makes the river itself part of the night's atmosphere.

The Parliament building, riverside architecture and bridges are the setting for the experience. The exact route and views depend on the boat's operation on the day. If you have a particular photograph in mind, mention it when booking so we can discuss a suitable departure rather than promise an exact moment on the water.

Sunset changes with the season, so share your preferred date as well as your ideal time. We will check the available departures against the rest of your programme. For broader comparisons before choosing, read our guide to planning a Budapest booze cruise.

Getting to the departure point

Your booking details will identify the departure point for your allocated boat. Use those details when planning the journey, as there are several boarding locations along the Danube. The correct dock matters more than simply reaching the riverfront.

Give everyone the same meeting information and follow the arrival time in your confirmation. If guests are staying at different addresses, agree where the group will meet before heading to the boat. Having one person keep track of arrivals makes boarding easier for the whole party.

A private transfer can be quoted separately. Send us your collection address and any onward plans when you request it. We can then check the journey alongside your sailing time. For groups arriving in Budapest that day, include your flight details so the proposed itinerary allows for the airport journey as well.

Bring the music and the toast

You can use the onboard sound system for your own music. Prepare a playlist in advance and download it to your phone so you are not relying on mobile reception. We can confirm the connection for the allocated boat before your activity.

It helps to choose one person to handle the music. That leaves everyone else free to enjoy the cruise and avoids a succession of people trying to connect their phones. Keep any toast or speech easy to organise, with a clear moment for the group to gather round.

If you want to arrange decorations, equipment or a larger surprise, discuss it with us before the day. We will check what the boat can accommodate. The standard package includes your music through the sound system. A DJ or separate entertainment would need its own arrangement.

How your group quote is calculated

Your quote depends on the date, group size, cruising time and any additional arrangements. We check the boat availability and the drinks package together, then give you a price for the proposed booking.

Send a realistic headcount, even if a few friends are still deciding. The number of guests affects both the boat we can arrange and the drinks requirement. If the group size changes, let us know before treating the earlier quote as final. The cost per person may change when the same private booking is shared between a different number of guests.

When comparing offers, check the full package: exclusive boat use, sailing duration, drinks, coordination and any transport. A per-person ticket for a shared sightseeing cruise covers a different arrangement. Your enquiry should make clear that you are looking for a private boat with the open bar included.

Choose the boat package that matches your plans

This option suits groups that want their boat hire and drinks arranged together. The open bar is part of the main activity, so it should be the reason you choose this package.

If you want to start with the boat hire and discuss drinks separately, explore our Private Boat Cruise. If a performance is central to the groom's surprise, see the Strip Boat Cruise for that experience.

Share the option you prefer with your group before collecting money. A clear agreement on the boat, drinks and any entertainment makes it easier to compare quotes and avoids changing the package once everyone has organised their contribution.

Booze cruise questions

Can guests under 18 join the activity?

If your group includes anyone under 18, tell us before making plans around this package so we can discuss a suitable alternative.

Can we add food to the cruise?

Ask us about food when you send your enquiry. Catering is separate from the standard drinks package and needs to be checked for your boat and date. Include dietary requirements and allergies with the request so we can confirm what can be arranged.

Is the boat suitable for someone with limited mobility?

Please describe the guest's access requirements before booking. Boarding arrangements, steps and facilities vary between boats. We need to check the specific vessel and departure point rather than assume every option will be suitable.

Can we bring our own bottles?

The package already includes an open bar. If you want to bring a particular bottle for a toast, ask in advance. Permission needs to be agreed for your boat, and should not be assumed from the fact that the booking is private.

Can we swim or jump into the Danube?

No. Swimming and jumping from the boat are prohibited. Remain on board and follow the crew's instructions throughout the activity.
